KYRA DAVIS: Who Should Play Sophie

People have been asking me this since Sex, Murder And A Double Latte was first published but usually those questions came from people who had never worked in the film industry and never planned to work in the film industry. Yes, there has been some interest from Hollywood but nothing all that serious.

Now I'm in Hollywood and everyone I meet is in the film industry and NOW the questions are coming from people who seriously want to get this project going. But the question keeps coming up.

Who should play Sophie?

So now I'm turning to you for help. I really do need to know who you think should play our favorite caffeinated "it" girl. Before you say Halle Berry please keep in mind that Halle just turned 40 (although I've heard it said that she's really older). Sophie is 30 and ideally Hollywood would like her to be 25. That's not to say that you shouldn't send me the name of 30-something actresses but if they're 40-something I probably won't be able to sell it.
That said if you can think of the perfect actress who is ethnic but not necessarily Sophie's ethnicity by all means suggest her. You never know what they'll buy into.

Also, who should play Anatoly? Any ideas for Dena, Mary Ann, Marcus and Leah? What about my villains. Have any ideas for them?

How about Tameka Jacobs from "Deal or No Deal?" I never knew who she was until recently (I don't watch much TV) but I happened upon her by accident in Wikipedia. She's beautiful just like I picture Sophie and in your age range. I think she's 28.

I just bought your new book. Can't wait to read it!

For Sophie I see maybe Ciara or Tracy Ellen Ross since she has such curly hair and good comedy timing for the sarcastic parts. For Dena I could see Christina Ricci playing her perfectly. I think MaryAnn would be perfectly played by Kristen Bell or Katherine Heigel. For Anatoly I could see Gerard Butler.

I think Hayden Pantierre could be great playing MaryAnn! And she's an up-and-coming actress so that would be perfect. She's a little young (just turned 18) but she can pull off looking a bit older than her age with ease, and her youth could add to the sense of sweetness and naivete necessary for MaryAnn.

I agree on Katherine Heigl for Mary Ann!

For Anatoly? Gerard Butler is okay.. but if you want other options... Eric Bana, Christian Bale, or (and for this one, you would have to overlook the fact that he played Superman..) Brandon Routh.

But ultimately, you should choose.

God, wouldn't I just LOVE to have Katherine Heigl play Mary Ann. She would be so insanely perfect!!!

I think I may have the movie optioned by the end of the year. If I end up signing a deal I'll be sure to let everyone here know about it and you better believe I'll be doing what I can to implement your suggestions!
