And The Parties Continued

The Red Dress Ink party on May 30th was definitely the place to be.

You see Red Dress Ink partnered up with New York Moves in order to sponsor a contest in which people across the country could submit their designs for the perfect red dress. The five finalist’s dresses were modeled throughout the evening by the women of America’s Top Model. It felt more like a club scene than a publisher’s party. People were dancing on the tables and hooking up left and right. Normally I’d be trampling the furniture with the best of them but the authors who contributed to the Girls Night Out anthology were all in the VIP section signing their books and I so rarely get to hang out with them (Lynda Curnyn, Laura Caldwell, Sarah Mlynowski and so on) thus I spent most of my time in the VIP section as well.

The party started at 7 but I got there at 7:45 and skipped out a little after 10. After all, I had a plane to Denver to catch early the next morning so I could make a television appearance the following day…my luggage on the other hand was destine to enjoy an all expense paid vacation to Vegas, courtesy of America West. But more about that later. It’s 1 in the morning which means that it is now officially my son’s birthday and I just screwed up his cake. So sometime in the next fifteen hours I will either give my seriously flawed Martha Stewart impersonation another shot or I will rush out to the nearest bakery and buy a cake that I can decorate in an fashion that is amateurish enough to enable me to pass it off as homemade.

I seriously leaning toward option number two….
