Oh, The Fabulousness Of It All

Last week I attended the shows at LA fashion week with the fabulous Mika Takeuchi, founder and CEO of Fashionbliss.com.

I'm not sure what I liked better, the shows or the gift baskets they gave to those in attendance. I got perfume, CDs, cookies, leggings, make-up, eyelashes...oh I could go on and on.
I think my favorite show was actually put on by the casual sportswear line, Birds Of Prey. The stuff was edgy, sexy and most importantly, totally wearable. I think some designers (and I'm not naming names) get so caught up in the theater of it all they forget to take the time to put the clothes together in a way that reminds the audience that they could actually wear them without being mistaken for a crazy person or a hooker. Birds Of Prey didn't make that mistake. Neither did Tart for that matter and if you're looking for cute comfy knitwear Tart is the way to go this season.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, my house is not on fire. Where I live isn't anywhere as scenic as Malibu (few places are) but I wouldn't move to that city if you paid me. Isn't it bad enough that I live in earthquake territory? Do I really have to worsen my odds by surrounding myself with lots of dry brush?
