You Can Be Dirty Without Rolling In The Mud

I'm not a prude. I have no problem with casual sex. If there's a guy (or girl as the case may be) who you want to take home for the night and that person is into you as well, have at it. You'll get no judgment from me. I don't even have a problem with sex workers. I'm not really okay with hookers hanging out on the corner, putting themselves in danger and screwing up the neighborhood but if you're stripping, working the XXX circuit or "entertaining" clients in your apartment that's your business. As long as no ones being hurt and everyone knows the score I don't see why I should be bothered by it.

But in LA there are a lot of women who are sleeping with men in hopes that they'll give them that job or part that will help them make it big. This is infinitely worse than prostitution. For one thing, when you prostitute yourself at least you know what you're getting for your work. Rightly or wrongly there's a paycheck waiting for you at the end of that faked orgasm. But if you're sleeping with people to get a job all you're going to get is a vague promise of an opportunity that might be (but probably won't be) available to you down the line. And then word will spread and other men with vague promises will seek you out. There is no pay off here. You're degrading yourself for nothing. I find that gross.

But that's nothing compared to those who will sleep with some guy just because he's famous. It's like these women think the celebs are better than they are and that by screwing one of them the fame will rub off on them. They'll get to feel a little more important and special, if only for the night. News flash ladies, you can't fuck your way to self esteem. The celebs aren't any better than any of us, they're just photographed more and they sure as hell aren't going to allow themselves to be photographed with the random groupie they banged once in a 5 star hotel.
Okay, I'm done with my public service message. Just wanted to vent my disgust a little. Over all my life here in LA is progressing nicely. It's amazing how much you can achieve when you have a little self respect.

ABOUT KYRA DAVIS

I'm the internationally published author of the Sophie Katz mystery series, and So Much For My Happy Ending. My first Erotic Fiction Trilogy will be released in January 2013.

Aside from that, I'm a single mom; I'm addicted to coffee and True Blood (the show, not the drink). I'm happy with who I am yet I’m always striving to be better; I have more bad hair days than good ones, I love a challenge but I am not fearless, I’m….well…just me.
